Invitation to the Launching of the Kaya Natin! Good Governance Comics
This June, Kaya Natin! will mark the 1st anniversary of the meeting between Gov. Eddie Panlilio, Gov. Grace Padaca and Mayor Jesse Robredo at Club Filipino in Greenhills, San Juan. This meeting eventually led to the formation of Kaya Natin! a national movement for good governance and ethical leadership. Since then, Kaya Natin! has added to its roster 9 more Effective, Ethical and Empowering Government leaders who continue to serve as symbols of Hope for our country today. Moreover, Kaya Natin! has visited more than 60 colleges and universities all over the country as it continues to share its own stories of making good governance possible despite the rampant graft and corruption that pervades our government today. Aside from these, Kaya Natin! continues to reach out to every Filipino through its partnership with Abante and the Manila Times wherein weekly Kaya Natin! columns come out and its partnership with Radyo Veritas 846 and DZBB 594 wherein Kaya Natin! champions are featured regularly.
Yet, the leaders and core group members of Kaya Natin! believe that there is still much to be done in advocating good governance and ethical leadership in our country thus, through a partnership with the Ateneo School of Government and the Asia Foundation, Kaya Natin! has developed a Comic Book written in Tagalog that will highlight the leadership experiences of Gov. Panlilio, Gov. Padaca and Mayor Robredo. This comic book was developed through the leadership of one of the Kaya Natin! Core Group members, Liza Cornejo who so generously shared her time, resources and talent towards its formation. the comic book will be distributed to different depressed communities and will also be serialized in Abante. Aside from this, an amateur band composed of college students, Gracenote, has also volunteered to create a Kaya Natin! song which aims to echo the values, principles and ideals of the movement in the hope of inspiring more Filipinos to take an active role towards electing better leaders for our country.
We couldn’t have done all of these efforts and programs without You.

Why don’t you launch a sort of contest among colleges and universities or open to students or group of students on how future leaders will run the government differently? My examples are, the standardization of government vehicles and putting all government agencies under a national and an external international firms on annual or semi-annual audit.
In a different note, I agree with the notion on having a strategy of not attacking the present leadership but presenting ourselves as the ones who will bring the nation back to its feet morally.
Hi po sa lahat ng bumubuo ng KAYA NATIN. This is Manny Flores, an OFW working in the State of Qatar and at the same time News Correspondent ng GMA7 News Network.

I am based in San Francisco, CA. Early last year my friends and I who belong to a Filipino organization here started talking about the evils of vote buying in the Phil and what could we do about it as elction 2010 was forthcoming. We decided to keep talking about it and had a few more small group meetings. We thought about producing literature in CD/DVD showing the evils of vote buying and the corruption that follows it, and then distribute those CDs/DVDs to people who run for office in the local levels (specifically, for mayor)on a platform of no vote buying, so that they could use it to aid in their campaign. We were stuck on how to execute the program in the Philippines bec. we had to have a group there to work with us. Then we learned about Kaya Natin shortly after it was launched last year and we were greatly encouraged by that and by the thought that there is an influential group of people in the Phil that’s confronting the issues we wanted addressed.
My group here wants to connect with your group and see how we can help from here. Could we also put up a Kaya Natin organization here?
Our group here believes that if we should ever stop corruption, it has to start with clean elections - with leaders that did not buy votes to get elected.
Sana po ay makausap kayo namin para magkatulungan tayo.
