A question on Panlilio's Platform: A simple matter of trust
Dear Folks,
Let's get him to be president first simply on the basis of trust [or faith, a preferred word to the believers] which we can't have for any trapo candidate. I hope you don’t miss the point being driven here. All things equal among the candidates, it is only Gov. Panlilio that we can give our trust. No other candidate because the rest of the pack are trapos! And trapos can’t be trusted.
[Granting everything equal, given the choice between a trapo and a minister of the Lord God, the other faith believers – Muslims, Protestants, Charismatics, etc. – will not think twice in choosing the minister of the Lord God. Why? For the simple reason that a minister of any sect or religion is generally reputed to be an honest worker and deserving of one’s faith or trust.]
Once Gov. Panlilio is president, then we'll help him to be president to do the specifics of the general tasks listed in his platform; the platform that was not of his design but the people's, which means we'll help him draft his platform in a well organized sequence the average Filipino can understand and relate.
I hope the intellectuals, like the members of cybergroups, would appreciate the methodology of making the overwhelming majority, that is, of the average Filipino, understands in simple terms what he needs to look for in a candidate. In this particular election I think it is best to narrow down the criteria into one - WHO CAN WE TRUST. Herein lies the crux of his choice.
I look at it this way. Let's give the average voter all the candidates' platforms that would be written, in all likelihood, with many unavoidable technical terms. How can you expect him to understand the technical jargon? If he does not get confused and instead get lucky to understand them [and how!] he will most likely end up saying, "They all have the "same" good programs and projects. These are all we need, but who can we trust to deliver them to me, to the people?"
TRUST is the only criterion that truly matters at this time.
The individual letters of the word TRUST may be made to represent the fine attributes of the candidates the average voter can identify and empathize; i.e.,
T-rue: to his calling as a public servant; takes to heart the motto, "A public office is a public trust";
R-eliable: always around for the people; satisfactorily doing his work most, if not all, of the time;
U-nselfish: do [things] diligently not for himself but for all;
S-incere: transparent in his serious desire to serve; no pretentiousness.
T-rustworthy: putting our hopes upon an honest man [an honest ex-priest or has been and remains an honest public servant].
Under the prevailing circumstances, granting everything is equal for all candidates, the selection process to the average Filipino boils down to only one criterion - Trustworthiness; And this is one major requirement of character every Filipino voter sees so obviously missing in all our trapo candidates; a major characteristic in which Gov. Panlilio is richly endowed!
In the light of what has been said, I can confidently conclude that on the basis of trust Panlilio is a sure winner. [I don’t know about you. It’s really your call and I respect your right to make your own conclusion.]
