Panlilio: A living hope that redeems, unites, builds, and carries on.

How does one categorize Gov. Ed Panlilio?

    Panlilio:The Catholic Candidate[?']
    Panlilio: The Only Alternative
    Panlilio: The Honest President
    Panlilio: Our President

Perhaps it is smart NOT to categorize him as "THE" Catholic Candidate. At least not openly, hehe.

Why not? Because many of the presidentiables are Catholics, including many crooked public officials, past and present.

If things were left to me, I would like to start calling or referring to him as The Honest President, or Our President for maximum recall at the voting places, at the same time sending a subliminal message making the people get used to thinking and remembering him as, not the next president, but already The President of their Republic.

2010 will be a fight that Vatican cannot afford to lose. It is going to take a carefully designed secret survey of Panlilio's chances. If in its survey Panlilio is sure to win, it will quickly and dramatically grant Panlilio the dispensation he needs to run forpresident ['cuz there is no risk for its Catholicism getting shamed]. If in its survey Panlilio has only a 50-50 chance, or even less, I do not think the Vatican will be foolish enough to take the risk. Kasi pag natalo si Panlilio malaking kahihiyaan iyon sa Catholicism. Bababa siempre ang morale ng mga Katoliko, lalo na mga pari.

2010 will be a fight that Vatican cannot afford to ignore the redemptive opportunities in a Panlilio win for Catholicism in RP and in the rest of the world. If it should take a survey of how Panlilio's governorship has affected the Catholics in Pampanga, I would not be surprised if there is a significant interests and upsurge in attendance in religious activities, and a more pronounced overall religiosity of the Catholics. I would think even the Church collections have increased. There would also be an accompanying improved government service because people would be aware that God is now watching every government contract and service rendered or missed.

Take the morale of the Filipinos now that they know that an honest man, a priest, is making a very big sacrifice for them. I am willing to bet that a survey would readily reveal a significant boost signifying approval of Panlilio's candidacy and a renewed hope for a truly progressive government.

I hope it will not be only the Vatican who becomes aware of the great redemptive opportunity of a Panlilio presidency but also the very Filipino people themselves. For one thing, it will once more restore the good image of the Filipinos, here and abroad, and because of it there will be more investments coming in. For another, loans would not be a problem if needed as the number one scourge to repayment, the 30-40% corruptive SOP, under President Panlilio will be a thing of the past.

Furthermore, school children will once more be proud of their public officials and once more take them as their role models and heroes.

We lost a lot by foolishly choosing the wrong people to lead us. We need a president who can get back all that we lost - foremost are our morality and our hope.

Yes, we need our morality back, everyone can see that, and it seems it is only Panlilio who can get it back for us.

Yes, we need to win over hopelessness, and it seems it is only Panlilio who can give us once more a living hope that redeems, unites, builds, and carries on.

Panlilio is a lot more. He is a miracle waiting to happen for all of us.
